Geo436.com blog: Nawaz blames President for ‘current situation’

Geo436 LONDON: Pakistan Muslim League-N Chief Nawaz Sharif Sunday said that President Asif Ali Zardari is himself responsible for the 'present situation' in the country and urged him to seek apology from the nation.

Addressing a press conference in London, Nawaz Sharif said that President Zardari has still not accepted the judiciary whole-heartedly. "He is himself responsible for the present situation in the country," he said, adding, President Zardari is the man who had committed breach of agreements even before he became President.

"Only if people who had looted the country would have been held accountable, Zardari Sahab's situation would been very much different," Nawaz Sharif remarked.

He urged President Zardari to apologize from the nation and return 'Pakistan's wealth'.

He said President Zardari restored the judiciary because he could not take any more pressure.

It seems, Nawaz Sharif said, as if Charter of Democracy was the agreement made with Ms Benazir Bhutto only and not with Zardari Sahab.

He called for chalking out a fresh social contract for the next 25 years 'if the country is to be saved'.
