Geo436.com blog: Formation of judicial commission begins according to article 175-A

Geo436 Ministry of Law has initiated the formation of judicial commission according to the article 175-A. Letter was written to bar councils by Ministry of Law for the formation of judicial commission.
It has been demanded in the letter that bar councils should appoint their representative for judicial commission. According to article 175-A, one representative of Pakistan Bar Council will be present in the judicial commission formed for judges of Supreme Court; where as each representative of provincial bar councils related to provincial high courts will be present. Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry will call the meeting of judicial commission. On 21st October, in the decision of 18th amendment case, Supreme Court ordered to implement article 175-A with immediate effect, according to which the judicial commission and parliamentary committee was to be formed for appointment of judges.
