South Africa to host 2nd Champions League in September

Geo 436 JOHANNESBURG: The second Cricket Champions League will be played in South Africa this September. The teams will be announced later. After the meeting of the Champions League governing council here on Sunday, its media manager Matthew Slade told that the tournament would be played this year in South Africa from September 10 to 26. The governing council has accepted the request from South Africa for hosting the event. The spokesman said that the venue cities and the participating teams of the tournament will be decided at the Champions League governing council meeting to be held in the first week of May. Domestic champions of Twenty20 cricket from all countries participate in the Champions League but the Pakistani team of Sialkot Stallions did not take part in the first edition in India due to Mumbai attacks.
