LAHORE: Governor Punjab Salman Taseer has said Thursday that though Islam does not allow extremism and terrorism yet so-called Muslims have brought our country close to complete destruction in the name of Islam, Geo News reported.
"Terrorism has wreaked devastation with country from all aspects," Taseer regretted. He was talking to a delegation comprising of clerics from different school of thoughts.
Extremism is one of the toughest challenges for our government as terrorists have placed security agencies and holy places like mosques, mausoleums and imam bargahs at their hit lists, he said
Previously, extremists were targeting precisely public places and markets, he said.
Governor appealed to people from all walks of lives to come forward and express unity to combat the greatest war ever fought against the menace of terrorism in the history of mankind.
