A joint party of police and paramilitary CRPF troopers of 126 Battalion, during a siege and search operation, killed the youth identified as Mushtaq Ahmad and Shabbir Ahmad at Deedan Gali in Mahore area of the district.
On the other hand, four persons including a girl student were injured in police actions at Rajouri Kadal and Gojwara Chowk in Srinagar.
Meanwhile, an Indian trooper committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle inside his unit of ”D Company” of 17 Sikh Li Regiment at Nowshera in Rajouri. This raised the number of such deaths amongst Indian troops and police personnel in the occupied territory to 195 since January 2007.
