Geo436 ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Muhammed Chaudhry said the recent appointment of Chairman of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) is yet another violation of court verdict, Geo News reported Wednesday.
The court also allowed reappointed government counsel Latif Khosa to proceed with the case in place of Kamal Azfar.
The hearing into NRO implementation case has been adjourned till tomorrow while, government”s NRO review plea would be heard in first week of November.
A 17-strong Supreme Court (SC) bench heard NRO Review petitions and NRO Implementation case.
The bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Muhammed Chaudhry includes Justice Javed Iqbal, Justice Shakirullah Jan, Justice Tasadduq Hussain Jilani, Justice Nasirul Mulk, Justice Raja Fayyaz Ahmed, Justice Muhammed Sair Ali, Justice MA Shahid Siddiqui, Justice Jawwad S Khawja, Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali, Justice Khilji Arif Hussain, Justice Rahmat Hussain Jaffery, Justice Tariq Pervaiz, Justice Saqib Nisar, Justice Asif Saeed Khosa, Justice Ghulam Rabbani and Justice Khalilur Rehman Ramday.
The CJ said the consultation with the Chief Justice is vital for the appointment of Nab Chairman in the light of Asfandyar Wali case.
The bench expressed dissatisfaction over a National Accountability Bureau-submitted report on implementation of court verdict on National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO).
It should be mentioned here that the Nab submitted yesterday its report on implementation of the SC ruling on RNO.
The Nab said in this report the whereabouts of money of Swiss accounts could not ascertained.
”We do not know about the money.”
At least 150 cases have been re-opened after the NRO was annulled on December 16, 2009. Malik Qayyum resorted to correspondence to cause an end to only Swiss cases.
