GEO 436 KARACHI: Qadir Patel, a PPP's member national assembly and Chairman of NA standing committee for Interior affairs, has announced resignation from two offices in a bid to register protest against killing of his coordinator Eidi Ameen Khaskheli and former councilor Abdul Ghani Bachani by unidentified gunmen on late Friday, Geo news reported. According to police sources, the incident occurred when three unknown gunmen, riding motorcycle, opened fire resulting in deaths of Eidi Ameen Khaskheli and Abdul Ghani Bachani. Both deceased were the activists of Pakistan People's Party (PPP) while corpses have been moved to Civil hospital for autopsy, police sources confirmed to media. Talking to media at hospital, MNA Qadir Patel announced resignation from chairmanship of NA standing committee and from membership of national assembly, saying one does not have to be genius to certain who should be responsible for target killing incidents in Karachi. I don't want to name terrorists who carried out assassination in order not to disrupt peace in Karachi, he noted. I will continue working for PPP afterwards as an activist but cannot allow my conscience to keep two positions following this incident, he added.
