Death toll in Lahore attacks climbs to 32


GEO 436 LAHORE: At least 32 people were killed and several injured during a gun and grenade attack on mosques belonging to a minority sect in Garhi Shahu and Model Town areas of Lahore on Friday, Geo News reported. Both places belonged to Ahmadi sect. Security forces have completed the operation at both the places and took up the positions. At least twenty people have been reported killed and several injured in the attack at Model Town while 12 dead bodies were recovered from Garhi Shahu, police and rescue sources said. Police killed one attacker and held another two of them including an injured, IG Punjab Tariq Salim Dogar confirmed. ”The attacker was wearing a suicide vest, which was defused”. Killed and injured were shifted to Jinnah hospital. TTP Punjab has claimed the responsibility for the attack, Geo News reported. Terrorists entered into the worship places where at least 1500 were offering Friday prayers.
