Geo436 ISLAMABAD: President of Pakistan on the advice of the prime minister has promoted Lieutenant General Khalid Shamim Wayne to the post of General and appointed him as Chairman Joint Chief of Staff Committee (CJCSC). Lt. Gen. Khalid Shamim is currently working as Chief of General Staff. He would assume the post after the retirement of incumbent CJCSC General Tariq Majeed, who would be retiring early next month.
