Karachi Bar announces indefinite strike


GEO 436 KARACHI: President Karachi Bar Association Mehmood-ul-Hassan Saturday announced an indefinite strike in protest of non-provision of adequate security at City Court where armed attackers killed a constable and succeeded in freeing four accused. Addressing a press conference called in emergency, the Karachi Bar President regretted that proper security arrangements were not put in place by the administration despite repeated efforts to draw their attention to the issue. He demanded resignation of Sindh Government, Home Minister, IG Sindh and CCPO who, he held responsible for the escape of arrested men and killing of a policeman. No one is safe inside the court, including, judges and lawyers and a similar incident can take place again any time future, Mehmood-ul-Hassan warned.
