KP minister’s son shot dead in Nowshehra


Geo 436 NOWSHEHRA: Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain’s son has been gunned down in Nowshehra, CNews reported Saturday.

Mian Rashid Hussain, 27, was the only son of Hussain.

Hussain was out for routine shopping in a local bazaar, where miscreants opened indiscriminate fire on him before fleeing.

Police informed CNews that Rashid succumbed to injuries in the hospital.

However, eyewitness said that Hussain’s son died on the spot.

According to reports, Mian Iftikhar Hussain has been receiving death threats from the Taliban militants.

Interior Minister Rehman Malik, condemning the murder of Rashid, has paid tribute to the bravery of Mian Iftikhar Hussain.

Speaking to CNews, ANP leader Haji Adeel expressed grief over death of Hussain’s son but expressed the resolve to continue fight against terrorist.

MQM chief Altaf Hussain has condemned the killing of Mian Iftikhar's Hussain's son.

Mian Iftikhar's nephew, Amjad Hussain, who sustained bullets wounds, has been shifted to Lady Reading hospital, Peshawar.

The deceased Hussain was the deputy director in Peshawar Development Authority.

President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif, Nawaz Sharif and other political leaders have bitterly condemned the untimely killing of Iftikhar's son.
