Election drive for PP-160 by-election ends


GEO 436 LAHORE: Election Campaign for by-election in PP 160 Lahore ends tonight, while election commission has called Rangers for maintaining law and order on the polling day. According to details the election campaign concluded for PP-160 on Tuesday night. The election commission has also completed arrangements for polling on June 24. Abdul Hameed Returning Officer of Provincial Election Commission Punjab said that there were 10 candidates, 187933 registered voters and some 145 polling stations were set up including 48 female, 51 male and 46 combine polling stations for by election. He said about 775 polling staff would be deputed and the polling material would be delivered on Wednesday morning among polling officers. He said polling would be held on Thursday, June 24 from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm. On the request of local administration Rangers have also been called in for maintaining law and order situation on polling day, he concluded.
